1970's Early Mamod SA1 Live Steam Car Roadster Steams OK Ideal To Restore
This Mamod SA1 is exactly as its arrived with us, all we have done is given it a steam up using our test burner and it ran ok.
This is one of the first SA1 models produced in around 1976 and has the level plug type boiler, copper rivets in boiler endcap, meth vapourising burner and six spoke wheels.
The chrome on the cowling has done the usual and deteriorated, this could do with a new cowling or perhaps rubbing down and painting. safety valve and level plug unscrew and tighten as they should do, there is the usual paint loss and rusting and bubbling to paint work in places, so ideal to restore or steam up as is, this one has its drive belts in place.
We have found a usually missing burner tray and included it but please note the burner probably will need refurbishment and new insulation prior to use.
